Slic3r does something odd with this model
I am trying to print a model from Thingiverse whihc is giving odd results at the top...
It looks like this...
But when Sliced, looks like this:
The 'vains' at the top are flattened off.. I checked in CURA and it was the same, so assumed the model was broken.. So I set about removing all the stray geometry and cleaned the model... And to my surprise this didn't help.. I now have a 'clean' version of the model
But it still has the same issue when slicing.
Re: Slic3r does something odd with this model
I wondered if the detail at the top was too high for the slicer.. Unlikely as the vains are 1x0.6mm.. And I was trying at 0.05mm layers.. So I scaled the model up to 200% and now its fine.
So there is something about the small detail which is causing this issue.. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Try checking "detect thin walls" under "Print Settings" --> "Layers and perimeters" --> Quality.

That worked.. Thanks for that.. Not sure I understand why these would be seen as "Thin Walls" as they are 1mm wide.. But it solves the issue and taught me something too...
Cheers.
