Self Test X Axis Test Failure
I'm having trouble getting through the self test, with the familiar X axis failure, but I can't get it to work based on many of the familiar reasons. What happens is that as soon as it gets to the X axis test, the extruder oscillates briefly before throwing the error. It never gets anywhere near either of the edges. I have changed the belt tension in both directions with no luck. I have tried loosening the screws holding the back cover of the extruder. When I move the extruder by hand, or by rotating the pully by hand, it does not seem to have any excessive resistance to movement. What else should I try?
Re: Self Test X Axis Test Failure
X motor pulley on the right way around? X motor screws tight?
Re: Self Test X Axis Test Failure
Yes, that all looks good, and the belts are all straight and aligned. I can turn the pully by hand and the extruder moves without any trouble.
Re: Self Test X Axis Test Failure
Loose/Faulty wiring of the X-axis drive motor and/or extruder?
If it's not even hitting the end stops, then that would lead me to believe it something amiss internal to motors/Einsy board.
Anyone here know if its safe to drive both of these motors with a suitable external voltage supply?
Re: Self Test X Axis Test Failure
my guess is you would at least need some kind of stepper controller. to just run them. you might be able to plug the motor into another motor jack for testing...might is the key word.
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
Re: Self Test X Axis Test Failure
You were right, the connector for the X motor was seated badly.
Thanks for the help!
