Recover from a quick Power Blip/Interruption

I was halfway through a 10 hour print and my power quickly blipped and the printer didn't offer me to resume.  It is stopped right where it was printing, but the menu option to resume never appeared.  The printer is in normal mode as well... Is there any way to tell it to resume?  The printer model I have is the MK3S+ that I purchased about a month ago...

Thanks,

Pat

The simple answer is no. You can do some gcode gymnastics to try to create a gcode file that continues where you left off. Doable, but personally I don't have the endless patience required to stitch things together just right.

Best thing is to don't get into that situation in the first place. Get an uninterrupted power supply. A simple one like this https://amazon.com/gp/product/B073Q3BSPG/ is about $75.It's not going to save your bacon if you have an extended power outage but a UPS is the best investment you can make to protect yourself against power fluctuations, blips or short outages.

Thank you for the reply.  I didn't bother putting this on my UPS since it has the power recovery feature.  However, I guess it doesn't work all that well for instances when the power just blips...So, on to the UPS it goes!  🙂

That is really frustrating, and a loss of a lot of filament, so that too is bothersome, but we all have to live and learn!

Really appreciate your reply!!

Thanks,

Pat

Me too......

I have had this happen to me twice. It seems the power has to be off some minimum amount of time before the automatic recovery kicks in. The frustrating part is that I DO have the printer on a UPS and the printer still doesn't recover from a momentary/blip outage. I believe my UPS "floats" the supply, so I'm not sure what the problem/answer is. Perhaps the "team" needs to revisit the implementation of this feature.
