PTFE tube collette damaged
Hi. Looking for some advice.
I had a pretty bad hot end clog.
a stray piece if filament during a failed print jammed my extruder fan. Im guessing this lead to the finned pary of hot end overheating and prematurely heating and melting the filament.
I took the hot end out of the extruder, and have finally managed to free the PTFE tube. it was glued in there pretty firmly, but my PFTE tube is mangled. and the black plastic collette that secures it I think got damaged too.
can this be replaced?
I have ordered a few new PTFE tubes, but cat I get a new collette or is this not a replacable part?
thanks all in advance
Peter

Hi All,
I Have recently had a issue and also damage the PTFE tubing, block head and the heat cartridge, I have got a new heat cartridge and manage to sort out a new block (ish) but I can't seem to find the pre cut PTFE tubing, if possible could you point me in the right direction.
Thank you very much
Colin

@colin-c5
They are prominently featured in the shop. This link might work:
https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/18-spare-parts
Click EShop above, log in, then start at Spare Parts.
(If it were me - I would buy PTFE bulk and cut my own. I am allergic to Prusa shipping charges...)

@robert-rmm200
Thanks for that Robert 😀
RE: PTFE tube collette damaged
Just be wary of the ID of the PTFE you get. I had a number of very odd issues until I realized the Amazon Special I'd ordered had an ID of 2mm whereas the prusa stuff is tight tolerance 1.85mm ID. I changed it back and all my issues went away (jams, squeaking, tips too large to eject easily)
RE: PTFE tube collette damaged
Even from Prusa - test the PTFE you get. The hole should be centered, and your filament should be a good fit.
RE: PTFE tube collette damaged
Thanks guys, I fed a bit of filament through beforehand and it seemed pretty snug and not had any issue as yet, with PLA anyway but Proof will be in the pudding when I run something else!!!!
Thanks Again.
RE: PTFE tube collette damaged
I Saw somewhere they recommend FESTO ptfe tube but haven search for it yet ...
RE: PTFE tube collette damaged
I have had this issue as well, and need to order a new collet and PTFE tube. When I click the link above to the prusa spare part website, I get an error message "you do not have access to this category" I am logged into the site. Any idea what I need to do to gain access for parts?
RE: PTFE tube collette damaged
You need to be a "Registered Owner" to get access to parts.
Contact Support through the Chat button - they can get you access.
