prusaslicer doesn't start anymore
Hi,
I try to run prusaslicer 2.3.3 but it doesn't start. I tried to run it in admin mode, same result.
I ran prusa-slicer-console.exe -s --loglevel 5, but nothing happened.
I updated Windows 10 to 21H1, same result...
I deleted the content of C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\PrusaSlicer, same result...
Please, i there anyone who could help me ?
Uninstall, reinstall
Try reinstalling it.
Unistall/Reinstall... no result
Thanks for your message.
Unfortunately, I unstalled and reinstalled... Same result, prusaslicer don't start...
I'm gonna try to restore Windows to a previous point. Perhaps a Windows update is responsible for the situation...
Uninstalling Windows Updates one by one, no success
As I could not restore Windows to a previous bakcup point, I tried to uninstall Windows Updates one by one... No success.
prusaslicer keeps on refusing to start.
Windows update
I'm running the Prusa slicer on Windows machine that is updated through 20H2 and I have never had any problems with it. I'm guessing something got corrupted and the uninstall is not removing every thing so the reinstall is not completely clean. (Leaving remnants is not uncommon when uninstalling apps unfortunately.)
I would suggest contacting Prusa support via chat and they should be able to help you out.

grasping at straws
After you have uninstalled and deleted c:\user\bla bla... do a search for Prusaslicer.ini and Prusaslicer.ini.bak and delete. Also reupload the install program from https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/
FWIW I also run Win10 20H2
Deleted all items related to prusa on computer... no result
Thanks for your post.
I deleted all items related to prusa on computer (register, files), dowloaded and installed the last version... Same result, prusaslicer doesn't run.
I found crash reports in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive folder about prusaslicer. With a wer viewer utility, I found the app crashes due to an error in atio6axx.dll module.
A @jwvaughn advise me, I will contact prusa support by chat.
Solved !!!!!
I googled "atio6axx.dll module" and found a solution : uninstall my AMD graphic card driver.
Then prusaslicer to run !
Now that I know the reason of the issue, I will try to find a workaround.
Nice job!!
Great work on finding the problem and solution!

Thanks !

I'd post on the Prusa Slicer github to let the dev's know directly that theres an issue with that AMD driver. They know about issues with various Nvidia drivers/utilities but I havent seen anything about AMD there. I'm not sure how much direct contact between the support people and the developers there is and at least github reports get an issue number and are tracked.
