Prusa Slicer Introduces Unwanted Infill & Bridge Supports
Prusa Slicer 2,1 (latest version) seems to have a bug that introduces unwanted infill - bridge supports and then top infill - at about layer 130 in the file I'm trying to print.  This error is fatal to my project.
Seems I can't come up with a photo just now, but it appears to be the same bug in the bug report below.  Is there a fix for this available?  Else I have to find another slicer.

Adding to this issue with another example. This causes a lot of time and material waste.

Version

PrusaSlicer-2.0.0+win64-201905201652

Operating system type + version

Windows 10 Pro 10.0.17134

3D printer brand / version + firmware version (if known)

Original Prusa i3 mk3
3.7.1-2266

Behavior

PrusaSlicer will put seemingly needless solid infill and top solid infill in the middle of prints. This causes significant increases in printing time and material usage (Cura prints the same model with the same speed settings in nearly half the time).

This is not a new feature request.

Attached is model, project, and config ini.

The problem is most evident starting at layer 74 on up. You will see the seemingly random parts of top solid infill (and some bridge infill). This project takes 6 hours 52 minutes in PrusaSlicer, but in Cura it takes less than 4 hours when using the same speed settings. The biggest difference is that Cura doesn't slice in all of the extra infill.

Here are screenshots from PrusaSlicer

For reference, here is a side view.  The overall shape is a vertical cylinder.  The unwanted infill (red) and bridging (purple) occurs at about layer 130.

If this is a request for help, great; but if this is an attempt to add to a bug report, the peer to peer forum is not the right place to post it up. Github is where bug reports belong and the only place they are responded to.  Though once in a while a dev will respond here, it isn't expected.

Try this part: see if it works any better.

@tim-m30

Thanks.  Looking for help.

I found the "fix with netfabb" command in the context-sensitive menu by left clicking on the object in the left hand panel.  That fixed it once, and nicely.  But now I'm trying to print a pyramid shaped shell and I get the unwanted infill even when I set infill to 0 and then fix with Netfabb.

Any insights are welcome.

Update:  It seems that when exporting STLs out of Blender, it is necessary find the "Export STL" panel in the lower left hand corner of the File/Export window and check the "Selection Only" box.  This seems to stop the problem of unwanted geometry appearing in PrusaSlicer.
