Problem with heatbed?
Hi,
I have been having problems with large PLA prints that span the heatbed. What happens is that the right edge of the print lifts up and this damages the layers being added. Here's an example of the problem attached. You can see the top layer is messed up due to compression from the lifted edge on the right. I'm attaching another picture from the side showing the lift although it is hard to gauge from the picture.
I have made sure that the bed is level. Here is a measurement of the bed level which looks good to me. I am using 7x7 calibration as well with recent FW 3.7.1.
The main thing that looks like the problem to me is the heatbed temperature. I used a FLIR thermal imaging camera to measure the temperature profile and am attaching pictures with the naked bed and the bed with the sheet on it. The bed temperature is set to 60C but the right edge is at 51C. I think this may be the source of the problem. Does anyone else have a thermal image of what the bed should look like? Any further thoughts?
Thanks,
John

Here's the bed leveling measurement.

Here's a thermal image of the naked bed at 60C. Temperature measurements are at a spot near the center and on the right.

Here's a thermal image of the bed plus sheet.

I just increase bed temp 5 or 10c and let the print roll; the added heat helps deter warp. And I also keep my PEI sheet absolutely clean when printing 200 mm plus flats.
