Prints have small gaps in places

I'm having an issue where whenever I'm printing lines will have random gaps like the printer stops extruding for a split second and then continues on.  I've takin some pictures to try and show what I'm talking about.  Hopefully you can see the random gaps/spaces I'm talking about.  I've tried changing the nozzle, made sure nothing was clogged, made sure the screw was tight on the Bontech gear and it wasn't slipping.  The only thing I know that's left to do is to take the extruder apart and reassemble it.  Any suggestions/help is appreciated, thanks!

Sort of looks like what I'd expect from really moisture laden filament, and a good dehydrator is in your future.

ps: many ongoing threads of drying filament; tips, tricks, and good for that purpose suggestions.  Food dehydrators, temps, or epoxy evacuation vacuum chambers, etc.

Thank you! I didn't even think about it could be a filament issue. I will definitely look into it.

An easy test is to raise the nozzle about 150 mm, then manually extrude 100 mm of filament and then examine the pile for the "burps" - small steam explosions within the filament. Another symptom is a foamy texture, where the filament swells as it leaves the nozzle.

This pile is oil contamination (finger prints/hand lotion): so no pitting, but does have the foamy/larger than it should be character.
