Printer stops less than 50% into prints.

Using S3D over USB to run a print the slicer says will take roughly 35 hours. After 15-20hours (+/-) the print just stops like it is completed, but it isn't even close to done. No crash detected (running in normal mode not stealth), didn't notice a power fluctuation, only indication something was wrong was in the tool window of S3D it showed that printer disconnected. 2 other printers running and don't appear to have this issue. I also don't see any loose/broken/disconnected wires, so short of bad hardware, I'm thinking software related, but don't know how/where to troubleshoot it.

Direct connection pc to printer via an USB line is often critical. If the system prioritizes something else for a short time, the transfer may stall or the connection may be aborted.
I would either print via a printserver, sd card or a wireless wlan card.
Try sd card first.

Running a print job of that length over USB is asking for trouble. Too many hiccups possible. For anything like that, I go back to SD cards.

Another victim of Windows Update?

"One of the many small changes in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is that the operating system can now automatically reopen programs that were running before shutdown or restart."

You might try to run the PS over Linux. Maybe the USB connection will be more stable.

@fuchsr

Tried this, same failure. Waiting on the Prusa team to get back to me via email for troubleshooting this issue.

@dimprov

I have not ran that update yet. So I don't think that is the issue, and I also have the same issue when printing via SD Card.
