Printer has odor while not running
I assembled my printer in January and upon powering on, I noticed that it had an odd odor while power is turned on.
It doesn’t smell like burning electronics and none of the connectors exhibit any melting.
The printer has this smell while idle and during printing. The only time it dissipates is when the power supply is turned off.
This is the 15th-ish printer my company has purchased and I haven’t encountered this issue before.
The only thing I think is odd is that the stepper motors are warm to the touch when idle, though from what I recall this is relatively normal.
Any ideas?
edit: it seems like the smell is originating in the Einsy board area.

Hi Geno,
the only motors which should be powered whilst a mk3 is at rest, are the Z axis motors!

If you have a new heater block sock on, it will smell for a few prints and stop smelling after that, worth checking 😀
