Print paused every 10 minutes
Hello everyone,
I have a mk3s that hasn't failed me in the past 1.5 year and am very happy about it. Unfortunately, for the past 2 weeks, I can't complete a print without being asked by the printer to change the filament. At some point, the printer pauses itself, and asks for me to change the filament. It seems that it stops detecting it at some point. When I change it (I actually replace it by the same one), printer starts back, but 5 to 10 minutes later, it asks me the same thing again.
I have updated the firmware and removed filament sensor and put back it again on the motherboard (thought the sensor could have a loose contact...), but it didn't change anything. Can the filament sensor be damaged ? Do you have any idea how to solve this issue ?
Thank you in advance for your replies.

RE: Print paused every 10 minutes
try printing without the sensor or with the sensor disabled. if it prints fine, then most likely the sensor needs to be replaced, or just live without the sensor. I've always found the filament sensor a good-to-have rather than must have. I don't have one on my other printers.
RE: Print paused every 10 minutes
I'll try that, thanks.
I find it useful still to make sure you don't lose too much material on the spools.

You may just have to reseat it. But it's definitely the filament sensor that's at fault here.
