Re: Power Supply failure
It is a design flaw if the PSU can't handle running at full power continuously. In case of PSU overheating, it should cut off or gradually reduce power output until in operational range again. In extreme cases, blow a fuse, not turn into smoke...
If heating up nozzle and heat bed separately, the heat bed should go first to avoid molten filament to stay in heat zone without flow - some filaments will break down and create debris when heated too long. Filaments containing fibers or small particles (metal) could separate and clog the nozzle.
Just some thoughts.
Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉
Re: Power Supply failure
Makes sense to heat the bed first and nozzle second. That way the nozzle isn't sitting hot and idle so it'll ooze less.
Re: Power Supply failure
I don't care what anyone says... Prusa Research is pretty awesome.. Rather than make we wait a week for my replacement power supply they expedited it It will be here day after tomorrow. I can't wait to see if its the same or different.. The 350W one I have hooked up has been humming along fine. In fact I think the bed heats up faster..
Re: Power Supply failure
I will keep this in mind if I ever need a new supply.
Goes for about $70 in the states if you ever need one.

This. Josef is a self-taught entrepreneur who is dedicated to the game. Even if the first batch of printers had an unlucky flaw, this happen all the time and is very hard to avoid. He will take care of us guys.
When companies you’re loyal to struggle, it's time to rally behind them, not give them flak.
Lets go, Prusa! 😀
Re: Power Supply failure
Now I am sad.... I was all excited to get my package from Prusa today. It arrives and well, not a power supply inside.. All they sent me was bubble wrap.... LOL.. WTF.... Someone there dropped the ball and paid dearly to send me a bubble wrap bag... 😀

Hold on… you were supposed to receive a replacement PSU and instead you got a box with bubble wrap inside? LOL. I mean…come on... that is funny.
Re: Power Supply failure
Yeah.. I'm sure it was the end of day and someone was just tired. I spoke to the CSR and they will fix it on Monday. No harm, no foul. I have 5 other printers so I can still print stuff..
Re: Power Supply failure
My PSU just kicked the can too. Hope to hear from Prusa quickly. I have no backup with 24V. 😥
Re: Power Supply failure
Wow... another one bit the dust. How many hours on your printer?

I think about a week. I’ll check if I can get some power to einsy. I was printing a long PET print so high bed temps.
Re: Power Supply failure
Of course it had to die Friday evening. I hope Prusa is checking mail this weekend. I could be down for a while. 😥
I don’t see any obvious fuses through the vents. Anyone know if there is a reset buried in there?
Re: Power Supply failure
Did yours also catch fire or did it just quit, I am most worried about fire while I'm not home

Just quit. And as I feared, Prusa went home for the weekend.
Re: Power Supply failure
Damn...does this means that we should all buy a PSU just as a reserve? I was already looking for prices of meanwell's PSU (from link above) in my country... just in case... and it's in the range of 70+€... 🙄
OK, so far i have still MK2s at home, as i didn't sell it yet. I began to think that i would keep it and install 0.25 nozzle for detailed prints...
Re: Power Supply failure
Anyone know if today is a holiday in Czech Republic? No response yet from support.

Dont think so. I spoke to someone on chat, but havnt had a reply to a couple of emails. They tell me they have a 3-4 day backlog on replying to mails.
Re: Power Supply failure
Wait! how do you chat with them? I didn't see that option under support.

Go to thr store, and it pops up at the bottom right.
Re: Power Supply failure
Thanks. Fuck! Why isn't that on the support area? Super frustrating. I am regretting buying this printer. Wasted countless hours.
