PINDA Failure Mode i3 Mk3S

I am thinking that a failed PINDA will not have the LED showing.  The PINDA status on the LED display remains (0) with or without a metal object under it, but the LED is ON.  Is that a normal failure mode?

RE: PINDA Failure Mode i3 Mk3S

Hi Ian,
the Pinda has 3 or 4 wires.

they are

5volts,
Ground,
Signal and
thermistor (If Fitted)

In use the Pinda wires are constantly flexing, this can  cause metal fatigue and early failure.
if the signal wire breaks  the light will flash but the controller will not see the signal.
I have repaired mine in the past...

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
