Not able to flash and boot printer with new firmware 3.3.1, screen frozen

Hi forum people! 😀

A couple of days ago I tried to flash my new Prusa i3 MK3 with the latest firmware 3.3.1 via Slic3rPE.

After flashing the printer my screen remains freezed with the text "Upgrading firmware Do not disconnect! Verify 100%". I thought everything was fine until I waited 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes....after 40 minutes the screen stays with the same message.

I decide to reboot the printer, and the screen changes to "Original Prusa i3 Prusa Research" and 3 points in the lower right corner.
The printer doesn´t boot and obiously I cannot access to the main menu...

I´ve also talked to support via live chat and. We have tried to flash again using XLoader for Arduino, changing COM ports, reinstalling drivers, rebooting PC and printer....nothing worked.

Someone with the same issue? Any clue? I´m very frustrated right now 😕 The printer is only 2 weeks out of the box!

PD: Sorry for my bad english.

Hi Joan!

Yes, I have news about my problem. After talking again with support technicians and more tests, they´ve decided to sent me a new RAMBo board.
I´ll send them my "broken" board so they can test and analyze what happened and why the board is not booting.

I´m wondering wich firmware the new board will have. If have to flash it again I´ll think twice before doing it.

With this I think this thread can be closed.

Thanks for your concern.

Thanks for that response Albert,

Prusa support are usually very helpful.

I have flashed my board many times,

if the firmware is not the latest, have another go at flashing it...

RE: Not able to flash and boot printer with new firmware 3.3.1, screen frozen

Just as a heads up, I had this EXACT same thing happen to me when trying to update to the latest firmware (3.9.0) - stuck on verify and then a reboot causes a hangup on the splash screen with 3 dots. I was able to solve this by downloading the .hex firmware file for the 3S by itself, rather as part of the package for the MMU2S, and even though the files looked identical, the solo firmware .hex file flashed the first time, after multiple failed attempts with the MMU2S file. I was also informed by PRUSA support (thanks Michaela!!! You're the best) that the SD card should be removed when flashing I think this is an easy thing to forget to do when updating.

Hope this helps!

I had the same symptom when I accidentally flashed a MK3S printer with firmware for the MK2.5S, which was in the same zipfile. I reflashed it with the correct MK3S firmware and it was fine.
