No hardware changes - installing FW 3.14.1 - X Axis Length
I have an MK3S that has sat for a long time (years) without use. I went to get it up and running, put some filament in, printed a Benchy, all was good. Print came out clean.
I downloaded a new model and sliced it, when I tried to print it the MK3S said "new firmware available", so I went and flashed the MK3S with the latest.
Now it won't print due to calibration not being complete - so I ran calibration and it errors out immediately on X Axis check with "selfcheck failed axis length".
There are some very old threads here about this problem, and most seem to be hardware failures (either build issues or obstruction issues)... since I printed something 30 minutes ago, I feel like the hardware is still functional and there is nothing obstructing the axis.
Before I tear this thing apart, are there any recommendations of software fixes?

I attempted a factory reset and re-flashed the printer to no avail.
Using the "move X" in settings works fine, and can move from +0.0 to +240.0 with no issues.

try lubricating the smooth rods.
Wipe the smooth rods and the ends of the bearings with a lint free cloth to remove any dust then smear a thin film os white lithium grease, or sewing machine oil, on the smooth rods, then work the X and Y axes side to side, front to back a couple of times to distribute the lubricant, then try homing again...
If the lube looks dirty, wipe it off and re apply....
the Mk3 uses sensorless homing, so if there is unexpected friction during homing, the controller may falsely trigger early.
