New and fresh assembled Prusa MK3s is failing on z achsle.

Hi,

I just finished the buld and was totaly excited.. but that stopped after a few moments. When the device starts the 12 minmutes calibration test it is doign the endpoint for x and y and then failing almost imediately when starting with z. Seems that the motors are not in sync. Did the manual allignment on the hotbed before starting. Tried it several times now. Broken mortor? The left side is a lot heavier to move by hand then the right side is. Does that indicate anything. as there are no belts involved in the z achsle I can´t see done something wrong here.

Any help is most appreciated.

Thx and greetz

Michael

Oh just tried moving the z achsle via the menu not usinf the wizard is working. So it can´t be a general issue. And hints?

Turning of the light showed the red Pinda light. So yes it does. And Auto homing seems also to detect the surface of the hot bed, as it is not touching it.

just a thought, with the printer off raise both Z motors all the way to the top.  maybe the Zs aren't even.

I think ive seen where some people have plugged the pinda in wrong. ill keep thinking of stuff

thx a lot.. I just don´t get it as autohoming seems to do exactly what it should. Goes all the way up skipps steps and then come back donw and PINDA seems to detect the bed and it stops. The calibration alltough seems to not even start going up to the top. 🙁

If you do a calibration..does it go all the way up and comes down? Mine is just doign x and y and z is just  a few centimeters and then it starts heading bed and extruder.

Z motion problems - the up and down axis - is often the user adjusting the dust covers too tight to the motors.  Adjust the two dust covers upwards and well away from the motors and try again.  If too close, they will jam the motor.

Hi,

thx a lot for the hint. I checked that already, and in the meanwhile the problem was detected and sorted. It was the trapezoidal nut wich was damaged. Most likely my fault during assembly :-(. Thx to the support it could be spotted and the send me a replacement. So both thumbs up for the service.
