That being said, I guess I'll need to switch back, as I do plan on running the MMU2 unit...it's already on order.

Many have the stock E3D heat break and it works fine with their MMU. I wouldn't worry about it. All the step is for accommodating the threadish string at the end of filament that gets unloaded. And if your unloads are consistently that bad, you'll have other problems reloading long before the filament gets back into the heat break.

Cold Pull actually came out surprisingly clean.  Again, I run it through the extruder first for a cycle or two to clear out the old.  Then I cool it down, then do the heat cycle to cold pull as Tim directed.

That is not a clean cold pull. A cold pull will have a nice sharp conical tip at one end.

I thought it was on my phone then looked at it on my iPad.  Is that a small bubble at the end.  I have never seen a cold pull with that.

It looks like transparent PETG, but looks are deceiving.  Great photos.  I am saving those for the future.

How is this one? It's cleaning filament so not sure if that has something to do with it...it's VERY soft and flexible, so not sure if that is causing the discrepancy.

That particular file was Mika3D SilkPLA, if you're asking about the gold colored filament that my skipping video shows.

It does it with every filament I've tried though.

Sorry for the duplications ... but here's what you look for in a Mk3 V6 hot end.

Would I really see all that if I did a cold pull on cleaning filament? Wondering if the entire heat break and heatsink don't have time to get up to temp fully.  Should I insert the cleaning filament and let it sit for 20 minutes at temperature before letting it cool down?

The process is simple - cleaning filament not recommended for cold pulls - 

1. load PLA filament
2. reset printer
3. wait for nozzle temp shows 30c or less
4. open idler door
5. set nozzle to 100c
6. start pulling on filament when nozzle hits 50c 
   - if you lift the printer off the table, that is just a hair too much pull, but about right

Somewhere I saw a FLEX profile, the video is printing too fast for flex, I'd expect hopping extruders.
