Mutli-filament/Single-extruder problems
I have an MK3S and am trying to do a job where I am using two filaments, printing a bit of the first two layers in another color. i.e. the job goes filiment 1, then 2, then does 2 on second layer, then goes back to 1 forever - so, two changes during the job.
BOTH times it goes the change the filament, immediately after doing so - it goes over to the wipe tower and extrudes a bit of goo, holding the head in a single place. It is extruding WAY TOO MUCH. It causes a big blob on the workbed. Generally the first time it is soft enough that it can plow through it, but sometimes it hardens, and even hits it and does a "crash detect".
This seems like an obvious firmware error in that it should NOT be extruding so much - especially without moving the head! Here are pictures of the [only] two filament switches:
