MK3S pauses mid print to unload filament

I have a MK3S that I recently upgraded with the MK3-Mk3S kit. It has a bug where mid-print, it will pause, move the extruder to a corner and run the change filament routine. The printer has a full roll of filament, there is no break in the filament. After I turned off Autoload Filament, the printer developed an additional behavior where it pauses to extrude a small pile of filament in the middle of a print before resuming, like a sick puppy soiling a rug.

Things I have tried to no effect:

- Turned Filament Autoload off

- Gone through the Knowledge Base procedure to disassemble the hot end. The filament door moves freely and there are no obstructions in the path.

- The sensor page correctly changes value when filament is loaded and unloaded.

- Re-flashed firmware to 3.8.1 (current release build)

-Changed filament types

-Turned the filament sensor on and off in firmware

-Unplugged and re-plugged the filament sensor at both ends

Any and all help is appreciated!

Thank you

Have you confirmed it does this with the Prusa test prints as well?  maybe try the batman print quickly to rule out slicing issues?

Is your printer grinding? Bearings squeaking? Motors smoking?
Step 1) Wash your Steel Sheet
Step 2) Return to Step 1

I don't think it's the gcode. I ran the batman file as you suggested and the printer went into a loop. It would run the calibration (49 points) and then reset to extrude the priming line, and the moment the nozzle touched down it would lift up and re-run the calibration sequence, then reset for the priming....

I turned off the filament sensor and it ran normally.
