MK3s nozzle temp issues
For some reason when I download a file to my SD card and attempt to print it ,the nozzle temperature automatically is set at 170 degrees. I select petg before I slice it but it defaults to 170 when I attempt to print it. I can manually change the temp but why doesn't it remember the temperature .
Thank you
Johnny
RE: MK3s nozzle temp issues
170 is the standard preheat for mesh levelling temp. After it done the mesh level it should heat to full temp and then prime and start printing.

Thank you Neophyl
RE: MK3s nozzle temp issues
neophyl or anyone else, Don't know if this is the cause of the latest firmware or not, But when I select a print from my SD card it automatically heats the nozzle to 170 degrees . In the past what ever I selected to print it would heat up to whatever temperature I selected when I sliced the print and would start printing. Now like I said it heats to 170 degrees then does its 9 point calibration then stops tell it reaches the correct temp of what ever material I am using and then starts.
RE: MK3s nozzle temp issues
This has nothing to do with the printer firmware. The behaviour is controlled by the printer profile start gcode, PRUSA update those. They added the preheat process when they did the mini but some of us were using it manually before that on our mk3 printers. Check your printer start profile but it’s quite normal.
Did you accept a profile update recently ?
RE: MK3s nozzle temp issues
No ,I did not get a profile update recently It just started doing this in the last few days, I don't like the extra step, seems like it takes longer to start a print.
Thank you for the reply.
