Mk3S gcode should work fine. This sounds more like a disk error.

RE: mk3s g code on mk3s+, Does it work?
The only gcode that will be a problem is M860 (wait for PINDA temp). Mk3s+ users have told me that it simply waits forever with the SuperPINDA, so I've had to modify my startup gcode.
As far as "incomplete print" messages, make sure the end gcode is correct. I recall reading once that the Mk3 firmware checks for a shutdown sequence, perhaps M84. There was a problem with earlier versions of ideaMaker that inserted a lot of image data at the end of gcode which would cause erroneous messages on the Mk3. Raise 3D (the developers) have since added an option to remove the image data from generated gcode.
