MK3S Firmware Update Timeout

Hello,

I went to update my firmware today, and it seems to be stuck. It has timedout with this error in my log:

Writing | ##################################avrdude: stk500v2_recv(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_recv(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_getsync(): timeout communicating with programmer
avrdude: stk500v2_command(): failed miserably to execute command 0x00
avrdude: stk500v2_paged_write: write command failed
#avrdude: stk500v2_recv(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_recv(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_recv(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_recv(): timeout

I think I should be able to do a factory reset to fix this, but am worried whether or not it will fix it. Also, do I do this with the printer still plugged in to my computer? Do I unplug it? I still have the update running through slic3r pe, do I cancel first then factory restore? I just want to get it back to a working shape and then I will never update firmware on it again. Seems too buggy. I followed the guide exactly and still have this issue. Also if it helps, my printer is barely 2 weeks old so there really should be any physical issues yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
