MK3 Y Axis squealing loudly
My printer is making this horrid noise on the Y axis. It sounds like a belt rubbing, but I am not sure. If I apply pressure to the bottom section of the belt it seems quieter, but that could be bias. I have tried tightening the belt, but that did not fix the issue.
It seems to be coming from the rear of the printer, but it is hard to tell as the heatbed seems to bounce the noise around. Any ideas where to start on troubleshooting?
Just wanted to add
It is definitely the y-axis at the extreme back. I am going to first run through some of the maintenance here: https://www.prusaprinters.org/top-6-tips-original-prusa-i3-3d-printer-maintenance/
This happened after a recent failed print that had turned in to a birds nest, so maybe some material fell back and may be caught. If you have any other ideas, that would be great.
Re: MK3 Y Axis squealing loudly
Try disconnecting the Y belt and moving the bed by hand, this should let you get a better feel on the exact source of the noise. Generally it would probably be best to just disassemble the heatbed, take the bearings off the rods, clean the rods and lubricate the bearings.
Re: MK3 Y Axis squealing loudly
Are you sure it's not coming from the y-pulley?
I recognize the sound:
