Miss positioning after pause to reheat

I'm printing a large flat surface. Partway through the 2nd layer the print head stops and the display says 'Heating'. A few seconds later the print restarts. However, the system seems to lose its position and ends up crashing the head.

I have tried re slicing and re running the print but it happened the same on both occasions.

Any ideas?

Known issue. Try disabling your filament sensor and see if it resolves it.

That's exactly the problem. Any idea why the filament sensor would be involved?

I'm guessing either false runout or jam detection. Look in the support menu for fail stats and see if you have any false runouts detected.

The positioning error seems to be based on a comment that when that happens the printer loses the contents of its planning buffer and ends up re-doing the last move it was in the middle of. So if you were on a long straight shot (e.g. infill as pictured in that issue) the head will just continue and bugger off into nowhere, either causing a layershift or a crash.
