LCD Symbols

Greetings,
During printing I notice that the LCD display in the lower right corner will display some random characters.
They change as the print progresses or do not show at all.

What are these and where are they documented?

Thank you,
Ron

Re: LCD Symbols

I get this on every RepRap 1604 lcd device i have, either self build printers, official Prusa printers, but i noticed it only on the printers.
The 1604 lcd devices i've programmed myself via PIC don't have this issue. (weather station, alarm clock, solar watt meter, etc)

I first thought a cable shielding or firmware issue, but after investigating a little it seems it's both; a problem how they are driven from marlin, and the longer floppy type cables don't help with their missing shielding.

It's just random lcd garbage, ignore it.
It should only pop up a few times during a print, if it's almost always there then you definitely have a shielding issue (with Prusa's non-grounded frame not helping here, either)
