Jamming at the same point

I'm not 100% positive that it is the exact same layer or volume of extrusion, but I had the same print fail with a jam at nearly if not exactly the same spot three times in a row. I split the print (5 parts) into twos and they printed fine. 

What could be causing this? It's possible the filament is no good but it always starts out and prints about 2/3 of the print without issue every time. Smaller prints are ok.

I forgot to add, it's any print, not just this particular g-code. I've adjusted idler tension and cleaned everything out, did a cold pull (which came out clean), but nothing has helped.

Can you zip up a copy of the project 3MF file and upload it here so we can take a look? A picture showing the failure point would also be helpful. In the past, I had trouble printing Benchy with Cura. It would fail consistently at the roof line. Looking back (these were early days for me) I think I was having adhesion problems and the part would wiggle while printing. The problem "disappeared", likely as I figured out the bed cleaning regiment. It may be something as simple as that.

Thanks for the reply. This happens with any print. I was printing ring splints at first, then printed a unicorn for my daughter and it also failed. It jams in the bondtech gears, so it just stops extruding. There isn't anything particular about any of my prints that would cause it, they print perfectly until the point where it just jams and stops extruding completely. I can print the same gcode that worked a dozen times in the past and it will fail 2/3 through the print.

Ah, that's an important bit of new information. Are you printing in an area where ambient temps have increased recently? Have you started using an enclosure? "Jamming at the bondtech gears" can be aggravated by increased temps, which can be aggravated by increased ambient temps. The E3D V6 hotend is aircooled and rated to 40C ambient. Above that and the efficiency of cooling drops. This can cause problems hear the nozzle (heat creeps up past transition zone into cool area softening PLA) and also up near the gears (not enough air is moved around the extruder and everything heats up to soften PLA). This is an over-simplified explanation, but basically "HEAT IS BAD". 

Also do the usual like cold pulls to clear any partial clogs (which could create back-pressure up to the bondtech gears) and visually inspect the filament path from the top down past the gears for alignment. Be sure the idler gear on the extruder spins freely.

You need to specify the filament you are using and the temperatures.

Perform a cold pull and maybe try some cleaning filament. If the filament can't exit the nozzle - there is always a reason.

"jams in the bondtech gears" normally just happens with flexible filament. That can be a challenge to print.

I have had a real rats nest around those gears with flex.

Good point on the filament type. It took a while to get Inland TPE (85A Shore hardness) working reliably.

I just recently did a successful print with TPU, I backed out the idler almost all the way to avoid the jams and it ran well, but it was a small print. I have since tried using more or less tension on the filament but it always ends in the same jam, about 2/3 into the print for anything that is more than what I'd call "small". I'm printing PLA "plus", filament that I've used multiple times without issue to print sets of ring splints.

I am in an enclosure, but I have an arduino controlling case temps with a few fans, it stays between 30-40C, I usually set it to 35C for PLA.

This latest jam is in there good, there's a ball shoved down into the bowden tube that I can't get out with pliers so I'm going to have to pull the hotend. 

Are there any part failures that could cause this? I've had nothing but successful prints with this printer since I've owned it, this just started a few days ago. What would you replace? I have an order in for a few nozzles, but I doubt that's the issue.

A lower temperature in your Enclosure will almost certainly help...

Enclosure temp was the cause for me

For anyone else having this issue, I too was struggling. The enclosure temp was definitely my error. Leaving the doors opened immediately resulted in a great print compared to failing prints at a certain layer height (temp). 
 Thanks for the advice everyone.

Open the doors

Don't print PLA nor PETG in an enclosure - at least not if you want your prints to come out well.
