Increasing bed size in firmware …

Hello I am wanting to increase the bedside of my mk3s to around 300mm x 300mm and have some experience with editing firmware however while searching through the configuration .h file I see for the mk3s there is no option for //@ the size of the print bed options  and after looking at the mk mini, mk3.5, mk3.9, mk4 they have the option listed that shows the bed size. Can anyone explain why for the mk3s that option is not available and if it is possible to add it in and compile and would work ?

thanks

tim

RE: Increasing bed size in firmware …

Mk3 has a limited memory 8 bit processor, that prusa have been squeezing ever more functionality into a limited space,
the other printers all have 32 bit processors with relatively bucket loads of memory.
if you are going to roll your own printer with a 300 x 300 bed you may be better using a more modern controller with the larger memory!
