How do I fix and clean this

IMG_0905

Hello there, I’m a relative newbie to 3d printing. I bought this mk3 second hand a few weeks ago off eBay and I was recently printing with it. I tried doing a 4 hour print overnight and when I woke up there was plastic stuck to the nozzle which I pulled off without heating it. I have a new nozzle and just realized there’s plastic stuck to the heat block. How do I clean and take the heat block off without damaging it or the printer to then attach the nozzle. Use the video for reference if it serves as any help

IMG_0906 here’s a second perspective of my issue currently trying to disassemble my hotend and clean it off manually. I tried doing the preheating but since I pulled some of the plastic off and took the nozzle with it originally it’s giving me heat anomaly flagging so is there any other way for me to clean this or is disassembling the right move? Additionally some of the plastic is touching the edge of the PINDA

You have a small blob of doom. Search for blob of doom to see how others have dealt with them.

Before doing anything, look at pictures of a clean extruder and note the position of the rather delicate wires that are currently hidden, if you damage them you will have to buy replacement parts as broken wires can't be rejoined.

You have probably damaged your fan shroud and will need a replacement.

To remove it:

Raise the nozzle temperature to the printing temperature for the filament in question and allow it to heat for several minutes.

If you are lucky you will be able to prise the blob open - more likely you will need to add heat from outside with a heat gun to aid the softening, sometimes it's worth using a soldering iron to carve chunks off the mass.

Use needle nosed pliers to prise this away; remove it in parts if it won't release the wires.

Once you have the worst removed you decide whether you need to disassemble the extruder to get at all the blob or perhaps you can clean up in situ.

After the clean up there will be overcooked filament inside the nozzle so at least a purge and probably a cold-pull will be necessary.

Cheerio,
