Hot end temp sensor help

After printing a gazillion things with my mk3s, it suddenly stopped extruding properly. It seemed to get a blocked nozzle. After changing the nozzle twice which didn't help, I got the notion to test it at a higher temperature. This helped so I tried it hotter and that seemed to get it going again. Sooooo, I tested the hot end temp with an inferred tester and it turns out that the 215 displayed was actually only 180. Setting it to 250 got me 225 and setting to 260 got me 230.

Has anybody had this problem? Is there something I can do about it?

Thanks for the help.

Bob

some infra red sensors show poor results because they see a bigger target than you want to look at, ans they average the temperature...
if your printer is working ok, dont worry!

Thanks Joan but as I said "After printing a gazillion things with my mk3s, it suddenly stopped extruding properly. It seemed to get a blocked nozzle. " I had to turn the temp up to get it to work.
