Hot end running 100 degrees colder that display temp indicated
MK3s 0.4 nozzle clogged. Tried my usual unclogging routines but nothing would move. The clogged filament (PLA) felt solid even after setting the hot end temp to 250. On a hunch, I checked the heat block temperature against the displayed temperature. The block was 100 degrees colder that the displayed temp. Is this just a case of a defective thermistor or will I need to replace the hot end. How can I tell?

How are you measuring the actual heat block temperature?

I used both an IR (laser pointer) and probe thermometer. The second to verify the first. Klein Tools IR07. Very fast and very accurat.
