Heating Issues - Shows target temp as 0 degrees

I'm having some heating problems with my Prusa mk3s. When I try to print from SD card, instead of showing the correct target temperature, it shows as 0 degrees for both the hotend and bed and won't heat. However, when I choose Preheat, it will show a correct target temperature for the hotend and not for the bed, but heat both. It's not giving me any error. What's going on?

The gcode file contains the commands to heat the bed and nozzle.  Are the commands in the file?

Places to look if not there are slicer settings for the filament selected.

ps: You must LOAD a file before the temps appear.  No need to preheat or do anything.  Just select Print from SD card, select a file, and everything else is more or less automatic.

I'm having the same issue.

Everytime I unplug and plug in the SD card, and print anything from the card, the screen would show this picture. The intended setting is 230 C nozzle/75C bed for PETG.

Meanwhile if I press the reset button and select print from SD with the same file. It will print without any issue at all. I have printed 6 items using this trick. But how do I solve this?

Note: My printer is a MK3 just upgraded to MK3s using the upgrade kit and flashed firmware to 3.8.0 and changed printer to MK3s with the wizard in slicer as well.

From my gcode, the temperature setting is there.

If the printer is new, contact Prusa support using CHAT and explain the issue to them.

This would require the SD card reader to be - well - oddly broken;  there really isn't anything that would single out the temp setting.  So I suspect something else is happening, like a min-temp issue, intermittent thermistor, broken wire, etc.

@kevf

Hi!

I have the same problem with my brand new printer.

Did you find the solution?

Thank you

The problem seems to occur a lot more often with the SD card came with the prusa printer. I've been using a new kingston 16GB card and it's been mostly fine.

I checked the settings and everything seems fine. I haven't changed anything, except having updated to the recent Prusaslicer and I'm still having a problem. I don't think it is an issue from the USB because the old files work fine but any new file I try to save on the new Prusaslicer is coming up with zero degrees.

Just for fun, try removing the power panic cable.

If memory serves, both the extruder and bed refuse to heat if there's an issue, but it may only be the hotend.

@kevf

A factory reset has already solved many problems:

factory reset

Statt zu klagen, dass wir nicht alles haben, was wir wollen, sollten wir lieber dankbar sein, dass wir nicht alles bekommen, was wir verdienen.
