Heated Bed Thermistor Replacement
So the bed thermistor seems to be damaged as the temp readout seems to change if it is moved. I am looking to change it but am wondering if the bed thermistor is the same as the one in the heated block?
I have researched the specs of each but have come up short. I have replacements for the heater block but didn't expect the bed one to go.
RE: Heated Bed Thermistor Replacement
Hi Leo,
The thermistors have similar properties, but the hot end thermistor is a cartridge style which may not get good heat transfer...
chances are that it's the wires that have fractured
if you cut the wires in the green circle, and near the connector in the Einsy case
and effectively remove the wire inside the red circle, below
solder in a replacement lentgh of wire, using insulation to cover the joints. (heatshrink tubing is good) (Not polarity conscious)
and you can be back in business quickly

RE: Heated Bed Thermistor Replacement
Leo,
As Joan pointed out they are two different thermistor elements. If you are going to disassemble the heated bed to replace the thermistor I would suggest ordering a Prusa part. I broke my heater cartridge when I was doing the MK3 to MK3S upgrade and thought I could just order a E3D V6 hot end on Amazon. Not drop in compatible so I just ordered a Prusa. Costly mistake.
