Grinding sound…?

Hey folks-

After a filament “explosion” (lots of spaghetti around the print head) my Mk 3S+ now makes a grinding sound (IMG_9917)

I’ve cleaned off the printhead, removed any extraneous plastic I could find, and made sure the sound isn’t caused by the fan.

Any suggestions for a fix?

A related question - I don’t have the “official” lubricant that comes with the printer - what do folks use?

TIA!

RE: Grinding sound…?

I have used all sorts of lubricants over the years, my first printer was lubed with LM2 yellow grease
I have also used
light machine oil, (3 in 1, uk brand name, also known as sewing machine oil)
White lithium grease and
Prusa's own white lithium grease

All worked fine...

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
