Green Scotch Brite for the win

I'm on day 3 since 1st power up of my new MK3S kit.

I've been having a hard time getting good PLA adhesion, despite the "Life Adjust" square film looking quite good.

Tonight after work, I stopped by the dollar store and bought a green Scotch Brite sponge.

I scrubbed the side of the powder coated PEI steel sheet I've been using in hot water & Dawn dish soap.

NIGHT and DAY difference! Once rinsed & dry, it was obvious - the side I just scrubbed was much less reflective than the virgin side.

Side 1:  scrubbed & dull; PLA adhesion is fantastic

Side 2:  virgin & reflective; loading up PETG once I get over how awesome Side 1 is working out.  😉

Here are pictures, it's easy to guess which side is which!

Soap and Water is usually enough; sand paper (Scotchbright is an abrasive laden material) may cause problems with PETG adhereing a bit too well, so do a small test part placed where a damaged surface won't bother you.

Same here.  I use these:

Peach scrubber

or

Eco-scrubber

or just a sponge.
