FS cover stuck/immovable

I had to do a full extruder disassembly, but while I was going through the procedure, I noticed that the filament sensor cover could not be removed. It remains very strongly attached to both the printed parts below it and I am afraid to apply any more force to the part out of fear of breaking it. I've removed any screw I can access at this stage but I am out of ideas of how I can loosen the part. I cannot see where it is joined to the below parts so I'm beginning to run out of ways I could conceivably remove the part

single screw, right on top of the door

To access the filament sensor, remove the sensor lid/door (whatever it is called) - there is a single M4x8 screw holding the lid on.  The lid has the hole that you put the filament into, and a screw.  No other real features.  If you have removed the screw there is nothing below that should be holding it on.  It would take a heck of a temperature melt down to bond the lid to the extruder body.
