First layer not printing perimeter, blob instead
Been running into a bit of an issue regarding printing the first layer perimeter. Instead of printing the perimeter, either external or internal, MK3 has a bit of a spasm and extrudes a blob in a single location. Then proceeds to carry on with infill as if nothing went wrong. Prints the brim before no problem. First layer also seems a bit off when this errors occurs, along with what I think sounds like different-than-normal audible tones from the X and Y-axis motors.
This has happened on new prints and old prints, regardless of when they were exported to G-code from Slic3r, so didn't think it was a software issue. Update to date on firmware.
Things have generally been printing fine, but ran into a print fan error recently (large print utilizing all of the X-axis). Ran some checks and everything seemed fine, but probably need to check the fan wires for breaks or loose connections.
Any ideas?
Re: First layer not printing perimeter, blob instead
Is the frame around the skirt or are these external perimeters ?
Please check settings for skirt and perimeters in slic3r.
Did you use standard PRUSA profiles ?
Print the presliced files from PRUSA correct ?

Re: First layer not printing perimeter, blob instead
I'm getting exactly the same problem after I upgraded to v 1.41.0 - no extruded filament at all on the first 'line' immediately before it starts to print, exactly the same blobs as you at corners and a slightly weird 'clicking' noise when the extruder moves right to left (and not left to right).
I have tried older gcodes that I have saved from previous versions of SlicerPE and they do not exhibit this problem at all.
I'll be interested to watch this thread and will be downgrading to see if that helps.

Re: First layer not printing perimeter, blob instead
Can confirm a downgrade to 1.40.1 and a switch off/on of the printer fixed these problems for me. Looks like I'll stay on 1.40.1 for a while.
