Firmware, selector dial, problems after Hotend replacement.
A red cable on my heater partially melted which promted me to replace my hotend. Reassembled it, warmed it up without issues. Powered down and continued the reassembly. On powerup the selector dial isnt scrolling but it does click. On power up I get the following message on the display, "External SPI Flast W25X20CL is not responding. Language switch unavailable."
I reinstalled slicer and then attempted to flash the firmware so everything would be updated. when trying to flash firmware it fails at the end "Flashing failed. Please see the avrdude log below." So I drop down the advanced: Output log and everything looks good except this at the end:
Using Port : COM3
Using Programmer : arduino
Overriding Baud Rate : 115200
avrdude-slic3r: prusa_init_external_flash(): MK3 printer did not boot up on time or serial communication failed
avrdude-slic3r: arduino_open(): Failed to initialize MK3 external flash programming mode
avrdude-slic3r: Could not open port: COM3
avrdude-slic3r done. Thank you.
So I ejected my printer from the USB device manager and plugged back in and tried again without luck. To my knowledge all connections are confirmed (serial cables from display were triple checked for being secure. There are no other issues I am aware of. Is something wrong maybe with the Einsy?
RE: Firmware, selector dial, problems after Hotend replacement.
I've been working with support at Prusa. They plan to get back to me Monday after checking with a colleague but looks like I'm having an Einsy board problem.
