Firmware 3.14.1 Bug?

I recently replaced a hot end on one of the MK3S printers my school owns after I touched the heater wires with a brush when I was trying to get a blob off. I had updated the firmware to the most recent available and still got the error. I tried to help another school with a replacement hotend as well, and the same thing happened after updating their firmware to 3.14.1 too. Is there a bug or something that would cause this with replacement parts only or is it just coincidence?

Shorting the heater wires often blows a fuse on the controller.

Shorting the heater wires to the thermistor. Usually damages the controller

Good to know! But would that explain the other printer with a replacement hot end having the same issue? On theirs they didn't short the heater wires or anything, they just made the call to replace it after a huge blob.
