Finding the first 9 points during a print goes haywire
Hello, as you've read in the title I've got a problem with Finding the first 9 points during a print. The first 3 are fine but when the Y axis tries to move it moves to the wrong location and sometimes even the nozzle goes too low and drags on the steel bed.
I have about 20 prints on my MK3S with no issues, one day I changed the speed during the 9 point finding and the chaos started. The Y axis moved to the edge and tried going further which of course made that horrible noise you don't want to hear ever. I shut the printer off and tried again. I got one successful print after that but then nothing, the first 9 points always failed like this.
I have checked the tension of the belts, checked for skew of the X axis and reinstalled firmware to the newest version but nothing helped. It can handle the calibration wizard perfectly until it reaches the first layer calibration, since it needs to find the 9 points again and fails again.
I am completely out of ideas at this point.

Did you lube the linear bearings during assembly?

Do the axis move smoothly?

@joantabb
I tried moving the Y axis with the printer turned off and noticed it's VERY difficult to pull the sheet towards me but easy to push it away, I think you may be correct. I will try disassembling it tomorrow to lubricate them. I'd just like to ask what to lubricate them with? I have some silicone spray but I am not sure if that's ideal.
I'll try to post an update tomorrow for people with the same issue.

Well, I have lubricated the smooth rods and bearings and I managed to finally get a successful print! It appears that when I changed the speed during the first 9 points the Y axis coincidentally seized up at the exact same time due to the unlubricated bearings, which led me on wild goose chase. Thanks and a happy new year

Be careful with Siicone Lube on printers, the silicone can mess up adhesion, (It tends to migrate onto build plates. and mess up adhesion....)
