Filament stops extruding
Really could use some help.
My printer has been in use trouble free for 6 months.
After a recent crash and large blob build up (heated and fully cleaned) , the printer will periodically stop extruding filament now. I have the dreaded "clicking" where the filament skips and will not extrude in the middle of a print.
Performed the following:
Extruder gear filament/alignment and bolt tension adjustment
Cleaned hot end with brush and pin when hot
Cleaned out extruduer gear area
Followed Cleaning the hobbed pulley - Tips and Tricks #2, and How to improve the quality of your 3D prints on the Original Prusa i3 MK3
Other info:
Print will start fine and after about 1hr, filament will stop flowing. I can immediately stop the print and manually extrude filament, so I know the hot end is not jammed. I've tried removing and reinserting the filament many times.
Using Prusa filament
Its summer, so I lowered the room temp to 74F, seemed to help for 2 prints, but problem is back.
Any help would really be appreciated, I have budding 11YO daughter engineer and she is really disappointed we can't print anymore.
Am willing to replace any parts.
Many thanks in advance to any suggestions
Re: Filament stops extruding
Can you try a replacement nozzle? Maybe there is a partial clog. I had similar symptoms, also after about 6 months of use. Replacement nozzles are incredibly cheap, somewhere around $8-10 for a dozen. I put in a new nozzle and it runs like it was brand new again.
