Extruder clicking issue (MK3S+)

(I've only owned this printer for under a month, so I'm not the brightest bulb on how everything operates.)

ok, So I was printing something that I wanted to change filament colors, which I did in the slicer software, printer stopped, and I clicked unload filament.   it made some odd noises, and filament didn't remove.  I ended up getting it eventually with some good ol needle nose force.

and no, the nozzle isn't clogged, with the extruder door flap open I can push new filament in, and it shoots out perfectly.

the gears inside appear to be hung up on something, here's a video to better show my issue.

THANKS!

RE:

I was bummed that over 50 people read this, and no one offered help.

But that said, the problem appears fixed. 🙂

Believe it or not my problem was that I (routinely) kept tightening that extruder spring screw too tight!   But my printer worked great for a month, so it must of been juuuuuust on the border (software limits) of being acceptable.  For some reason, the resistance on the motor must of increased a ridiculously small amount, and because of software programming, thought the motor might be stuck on something.  lol

I'm just glad it was something stupid simple, and hopefully someone who has this problem in the future, will find this thread. 👍

Use a sharpie or similar to mark the stub of the printer axle where it is flush with the back of the motor facing the front of the printer.

Run your move test again, does the axle itself rotate or does it stutter in place?

Cheerio,
