Extruder behaviour prior to print end

I have not been able to find an answer so I will try here.  I have noticed that in the last few minutes of printing, the extruder moves to the home position and sits for a few seconds during which the display says heating,  It then returns and completes printing.  I have not noticed this any other time during the printing process and if I look at hot end temp it is correct and does not change during this process. This does not impact print quality.

sounds like excessive cooling of the hotend, cures are slow down the fan, make sure the fan duct is pointed at the nozzle not the heat block, and put a silicon sock on the heat block

There is also a mechanism in some slicers that limit the time the nozzle is over a part - so when layers get small, the printer moves the extruder to a safe spot and lets the last printed layer cool for a bit.   This is normal, depending on slicer used.

Thank You.  Using Prusa Slicer.  Temp of hot end did not change before/during /after the short time out but it was working on a very small part of the print at the very end.  ( 2 minutes before completion).
