Extruder and hotend

Can someone tell me where to buy an extruder and hotend that came with my MK3. I would like to buy within the US. I recently purchased what I thought was the correct item and I am not sure it is going to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Extruder and hotend

You can't buy the complete unit from anywhere except Prusa unless you buy from E3D and print your own plastics.

There is a list of resellers for E3D here https://e3d-online.com/resellers

The MK3 uses the V6 components https://e3d-online.com/v6

You will also need the Bondtech extruder gears http://shop.bondtech.se/en/drivegears/drivegear-kit-175-direct.html but again you can get these things from Prusa. As far as I know Prusa has no outlet in the US.

Hi Lloyd,

I don't know why you need these parts.

when you say extruder do you mean Motor, Plastics, PINDA, Bondtech Gears, Left hand fan, and front fan, plus E3dV6 assembly. or just some of the parts?

there are a number of E3d Resellers in the states

Voxelfactory https://www.voxelfactory.com/collections/original-prusa-parts
seems to be a reseller over there in Canada...

the fans are difficult to get hold of, and the Noctua left hand fan is definitely modified with an extended cable

normally when someone has a problem with an extruder they only really need a couple of spare parts to restore service

if you can give us a little more information, we may be able to help you.

regards Joan

Re: Extruder and hotend

thanks for the help.

The wires broke off of my heat block. The nozzle has also welded itself to the heat block and I can not get it out. I thought I would just buy the E3D assembly.

I am a teacher and one of my students took it upon them selves to heat the printer to its highest setting, which cause some damage to the housing for the E3D V6. I will also need get someone to print the housing for me. If I can get the E3D V6 assembly I can probably put it back together enough to reprint the parts myself.
