Exposed / Severed Wires near Hotend - Repair Advice
I've had my Prusa MK3S for several years, and more or less completely forgotten the steps I took to put it together. While troubleshooting a failed print, I noticed this wire where the insulation melted/tore, and the wire is almost completed severed (one strand still holding).
What is the best way to go about repairing this? I thought about cutting the wire and soldering in a new one, but I'm worried the solder would melt during use being that close to the hotend... safer option is probably to buy new parts and reinstall that area. Trouble is I don't have any idea what parts I need or how to replace them. Any advice or links to repair guides are greatly appreciated!

I would order one hew heater and two new thermistors, (they are not expensive and ordering together would save future postage...)
one of the new thermistors would replace the existing one, and If you damage the heater wires, you already have a spare.
If all goes well, you will still have a spare heater and thermistor, for when you get a Blob of doom...

You're right; solder will melt.
You might be able to crimp in a short wire patch while you wait for new parts.
Cheerio,
