Error: “Bed leveling failed. Sensor didn’t trigger. Debris on nozzle?”

I have an MK3 that has been working great until recently. On my most recent print, I received the error: “Bed leveling failed. Sensor didn’t trigger. Debris on nozzle?” I verified that my nozzle was clean, removed and reinserted filament. Same error.

After reading through forums, I did the following steps:

  1. Upgraded f/w to 3.10.0-4481
  2. Verified that PINDA appears to be working (light on, turns off with metal, can see in Support menu).
  3. Re-ran Wizard. Failed on Z-axis test with same error.
  4. Ran Calibration —> Calibrate Z. Same error. I did notice that after going to the top of the frame, the print head only made it half-way down when it threw up the error. It never even got close to the print bed.

Would appreciate any guidance!

Z bearing rod tightness?

If your Z is having challenges moving up and down, time to check the linear bearings on the X axis assembly (these are the Z bearings).  Also, inspect your trapezoidal nuts for jams/wear.  I've had filament fluff get stuck in the threads.
