err: MINTEMP

So I've been searching around a lot and I can't find an extended answer anywhere..

Summary: I was cleaning a clogged nozzle, after finishing the job I got the "err: MINTEMP" for the hotend. Didn't seem like a big deal, I read to wiggle it around try to massage the wire all the way down basically and see if there is an issue with the wire, but couldn't find anything. Assumed maybe I literally just broke the thermistor so I ordered a new one. It arrived today and the error is still there, after googling more Yosuf posted that you should try to plug the hotend thermistor into the bed port to see if the thermistor is bad, behold it's been working the entire time the issue is with the plug itself.

Edit: on second inspection the old thermistor does not work even plugged into the hotbed slot, however the new one does.

But where does that leave me? Is there things I can try? Is my only option really to buy an entire new board? I've found people with similar issues but this dates back to 2015 and there wasn't even an answer posted there.

First let's check the environment:  Is the printer in a cold place?  Eg, in a cold workshop or in line with an AC outlet...

What temperature does the LCD screen report?

Cheerio,

Thermistor

My guess is you have a broken thermistor wire.  I would hook up a spare and see if this goes away.  If your starting temperature  is zero, it is definitely a broken wire or connector, if it is not, it still might be a bad thermistor.

The new thermistor is not bad as stated in the OP I have followed Yosuf's instruction of plugging it into the Bed Thermistor slot to test.

Cheerio,

LCD Reports 0/0, I did attempt to heat up the thermistor to see if that was the case, it is not, not only that but it works fine while plugged into the bed thermistor outlet.

Themistor.

If your LCD reads a temp of 0/0, there is something wrong.  It should at least read room temp.  I would contact support by chat.

This thread solved my problem, I should probably make a small guide.
