"Corrupt" LCD display after sending an M81
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to configure my Prusa MK3 with MMU2s to "turn off" after a print is completed.
Currently, I'm sending an M81 command when the print finishes, as I understand this is supposed to:
Turn off the high-voltage power supply. If the board is not powered from another source, this may also shut down the electronics.
However, when I do this the LCD display seems to go berserk, possibly due to an encoding problem? The menu's work fine, which implies the screen is functioning correctly, but the info screen itself shows random symbols (see photo).
Any idea why this is happening? Any way to prevent it? Or any documentation as to how the MK3 handles am M81?
Sending an M81 to wake up the power supply doesn't fix this, the only solution I've found is a hard shutdown.

The 24v supply in a Mk3 does not have a soft power down. It is a power brick, and it is mechanically switched on and off.

I get the same using M112 for the OctoPi Emergency addon, the only to recover is a hard power cycle on the PSU.

The 24v supply in a Mk3 does not have a soft power down. It is a power brick, and it is mechanically switched on and off.
While not officially supported, it certainly does work. If you send a M81 you can really hear the difference.
I do hope this will be supported officially soon, perhaps, for now, I can use a "wifi plug" or similar to shut down the printer after a print.

The design is such that it will never shut off completely, it is not possible unless the design changes because the PSU and board do not have a control channel to communicate. I suspect all you are observing is the Einsy turning off what it can that draws power.
