Color change to text, consistent blob issue
Hello, hoping for some insights into an issue I'm seeing. I have 4 MK3s printers, and see the same issue on each. Using 0.25 nozzle, 0.15 layer height, PLA using generic PLA GCode. When I switch colors to change from base to text layer, I am getting a "blob" area for lack of a better description. It is repeatable, and seems to be in the area where the first new layer starts. If I use a different name, I can get the same issue in another spot. In the picture below, look at the bottom right corner of the capital "E" in Eduardo. There is quite an ugly spot. Any idea what might be causing this, and recommendation for any gcode adjustments? I tried slowing down the prints, that did not help. Thank you!
RE: Color change to text, consistent blob issue
One thought is heat from the head is building up around the letters. This happens often when printing small things like figurines - and in those cases it helps to add a second one - lets the head get over to a different place that hasn't been overheated yet. Not sure if adding a second name plate on the same print will help you, but if you try it on a small one for sample purposes, it would probably be a good learning exercise

Hi Dan, thanks for the tip! I went ahead and printed 3x at the same time. The front one (where the new layer starts) has the same issue, but the other two do not have the issue. I can use this as a workaround. I'd like to figure out how to print just 1 at a time and have the issue fixed. I think next I'll try to lower the nozzle temp and see if that help. I appreciate the help!
