Can I limit the print height of a model using Slic3r PE. or other?
Hello all. I need to test print just the first12mm in Z of a 200mm tall model. There are some issues with the model near the print bed that I need to address. So, Can I limit the print height of a model using Slic3r PE. or other? Printing the full model at ,2 res takes 7 1/2 hours. I'll be busy today so I can't constantly check the full print to see where it is. I can edit the gcode to do this but if I can just click on a setting it would be better.

In slic3r You can cut the model at the desired level
Keep the part that is cut off. Choose not to invert it. And delete the top part

Hi Joan, Thanks. Yes that does work as I have done that with simpler models. But Slic3r crashed to the desktop when doing it with the complex/large model that I was working with. I was able to edit the model in my CAD software with a few small work-arounds.then just sliced it no problem. (no cutting needed)

I haven't cut crazy complex models in alpha 4 but it does cut without issues. still in alpha.

Meshmixer would be the next step if Slic3r fails.

I have cut rather complex models in Slic3r; where it gets dicey is when there are multiple shells involved.
