Broken Pinda Wire

I received my kit a week ago and it has been printing continuously since then. Started a print yesterday and it failed the calibration. The pinda light is going out when the extruder is on the right side of the bed. So I moved wires around etc, took the back off the extruder to check the wiring and I think the break is on the extruder side, but I can't seem to find the break. I have ordered a new pinda from Prusa but would like to fix this one to have as a spare. Any tips on finding a break in a wire?

Proud owner of a Mk3 that is producing very nice prints. There is room for improvement as I learn more about it, but so far I am very happy.

I had same problem, maybe due overtight the zipies on cable bundle that exit from extruder body.
I find the problem by touch the cable cm per cm, found the bad contact cut only that tiny part of the cable and resolder the cables. Working since them but now i haven't tight so much the zipies, the black pinda cable is very fragil

I had the same issue. I used tweezers to restrict the movement of the cable on one side of them while moving the other. Once I isolated the area the break was in I opened the jacket and separated the wires within and repeated the same process until I narrowed down which wire was broken where. I then stripped the broken wire and soldered in a splice. Good luck

I ended up doing basically the same thing. Moved down the cable holding one side steady and wiggling the other. Found what I hoped was the spot and cut the wires, cut a little more off each side and then striped all three and soldered them back together. I am back printing.

Thanks for the ideas!

Re: Broken Pinda Wire

same issue here, i cut the wires close to the pinda probe and pretty much just spliced new wires all the way to the original connector. its been working ever since
